Film is film is film...or is it?
The film is only as good as the people behind it. Our 17 years of experience in outputting film help identify problems before they get to the press. Our prepress staff follows a strict Production Guideline which virtually eliminates operator inconsistancies. Combine an extremely efficient workflow with the latest imaging technology available, and you've got the very best prepress team working on your projects at Sunrise Hitek.

Big Film? That's our business!
At Sunrise Hitek, you will not be limited by output size. We can output film up to 30 x 40 in one piece, perfect for posters, and stripped up printer signatures. Imposition can be performed on your electronic files, to supply the printer with plate-ready film. Our big film machine features the fastest imaging speed and accurate drum technology.

Calibration makes the difference.
With so many variables in producing a piece of top quality film, frequent calibration is the key to accurate tints, smooth gradients, sharp type, etc. When running color separations, a bad calibration job on film will ruin the best scans. That's why we calibrate our machines on a daily basis, to insure that when you need a 50% dot, you will get a 50% dot on film. No more, no less. Our film is guaranteed to be within 1% of the target dot value.

Banding?
What banding?
Banding is a problem caused by the inability of the RIP to generate enough gray levels (shades of gray) to successfully carry out the command for a gradient. All of our RIPs feature a Sunrise-born PostScript patch that will automatically add noise whenever a gradient is detected, and will tell the RIP to generate additional gray levels. While standard PostScript only allows 255 shades of gray (256 including white), Sunrise screening can contain up to 65535 shades. That's many times more than what human eyes can distinguish, giving your the smoothest, best looking gradients and halftones possible.
